Columbus Chiropractors Dr. Jay Villella and Dr. Craig Baniszewski have provided skilled health care for the community and since 1998. With a focus on correcting problems for the long-term, instead of treating symptoms, our team cares about helping you achieve your health goals. Our practice is concerned with more than just having you come in for an adjustment; we're a whole lifestyle wellness program.
Dr. Jay Villella has been caring for Columbus patients since 1998 and has built the practice around one core belief: fix the problem, don't just treat the symptom. He holds multiple national certifications in spinal decompression and neuropathy care. He is part of the BluePrint Health Care Network, a nationwide group of doctors trained in advanced, evidence-based treatment protocols. That depth of specialization puts patients here in a category of care most chiropractic offices simply can't offer. Dr. Craig Baniszewski joined the practice in later years, bringing his own clinical background and a shared commitment to the standard of care established from the start.
What keeps roughly 40% of patients returning for 20 years or more isn't just credentials; it's the approach. Using motion X-rays and thermographic scans, the doctors identify the exact source of your problem, then develop a plan to correct it long term. Guidance on nutrition, home exercises, and supportive therapies extends your care beyond the office walls. As you reach each goal, your plan evolves with you.
MEET OUR TEAM
Dr. Jay Villella is the founder of Lane Avenue Wellness Center and has been serving patients in Columbus since 1998. A graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic, he has built one of the largest natural healthcare facilities in the city and developed deep expertise in spinal correction, nervous system health, and the treatment of complex disc and neuropathy conditions. His clinical work has extended to high-performance athletes, including members of USA Wrestling, USA Judo, and USA Weightlifting teams, and he served as a treating chiropractor for the USA Olympic Wrestling Team at the 2012 London Games.
In 2022, Dr. Villella was named one of the Best Spinal Decompression Doctors in America by the International Medical Advisory Board on Spinal Decompression and one of the Best Neuropathy Physicians in America by the International Neuropathy Association—earning the cover of both publications. That same year, he received advanced certification in disc disorders through the International Medical Advisory Board on Spinal Decompression. He was recognized as a member of the International Disc Education Association's Research, Science, and Technology division.
Dr. Villella's approach is grounded in the belief that lasting health comes from correcting the root cause of a problem, not managing its symptoms. He invests time educating each patient on what is happening in their body and why, and builds long-term care plans that extend beyond the office through nutrition guidance, home exercises, and supportive therapies.
Qualifications:
Dr. Craig Baniszewski earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from D'Youville University in 2016, following a bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from Marietta College. His training included an externship with the University at Buffalo Neurosurgery department, where he worked alongside post-surgical patients and those seeking to avoid surgery, and post-graduate experience as a chiropractor for a Division I women's hockey program. He brings a rehabilitation-minded, sports-informed perspective to a wide range of patients at Lane Avenue Wellness Center.
Dr. Craig's clinical philosophy centers on function, steady progress, and practical communication. He takes a direct approach with patients—clear steps, clear expectations—and draws on a range of techniques to match care to each individual's body, age, and comfort level.
Qualifications:
In addition to what is done in the office, we give our patients instructions for things to do at home to support their care. We teach them about nutrition, exercises, and therapies they can do outside our office, providing a pathway to the best possible solution. As they reach one goal, they progress to the next level, until they reach their ultimate goal.
Our patients want to live happier, healthier lifestyles and understand there's no quick fix; things don't go away on their own. They want the best possible quality of life, and are willing to do the work to get there. About 40% of our patients have been with the practice for over 20 years, and it's really gratifying to see them maintain their health all these years.
