Meet Dr Craig Baniszewski

From Athlete to Chiropractor, With a Rehab-Minded Lens

Dr Craig photoAn injury in high school that led to surgery changed Columbus chiropractor Dr. Craig Baniszewski’s path. It also gave him a real appreciation for hands-on care and the people who help you get back to doing what you love. That experience, plus years in football and baseball, sparked a simple goal: to help others return to the field, gym, jobsite, or activities that make life feel like theirs again.

Dr. Craig earned a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training in 2011 from Marietta College, then completed his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2016 at D’Youville (now D’Youville University). The program’s integrated, research-based approach, learning alongside nursing and physical therapy students, shaped how he thinks, collaborates, and explains care in plain language.

Training Shaped by Post-Surgical and Injury Prevention Experience

During school, Dr. Craig completed an externship with the University at Buffalo Neurosurgery, gaining exposure to post-surgical cases like spinal fusions and discectomies, plus patients hoping to avoid surgery when possible. That environment sharpened his focus on function, steady progress, and long-term habits, not quick fixes.

He also worked with a Division I women’s hockey team after graduation, which kept him close to the world of sports performance and recovery. “I wanted to help people achieve their goals, get back to really doing what they love to do.”

Techniques and Tools Used in the Clinic

Patients visiting from around Columbus often appreciate Dr. Craig’s calm, direct approach, clear steps, clear expectations, and no pressure. His training includes a range of methods designed to fit different bodies, ages, and comfort levels, including:

  • Activator Methods® and other low-force options
  • Flexion-distraction protocols and decompression therapy
  • Graston® Technique for targeted soft-tissue work
  • Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certification for golf movement screening and injury prevention
  • In-office technologies such as shockwave and laser services (when appropriate)

Beyond the Practice Walls

Outside the clinic, Dr. Craig lives in central Ohio with his girlfriend Samie and their two Rottweilers, Kaiser and Zara, where days often include long walks and plenty of time together. And even from Ohio, Buffalo still feels like home: he heads back to catch the Bills when he can, so patients may see a quick message that he won’t be in on Mondays because he’s at a game.
